The Heavyweight division is on fire at the moment. Anthony Joshua is the poster boy of the division with some big unification fights likely to be happening in 2018. It seems inevitable that Joshua will face Joseph Parker before the mega fight with Deontay Wilder. This fight would see all of the heavyweight belts on the line for the first time in history for a mega showdown.
Deontay Wilder vs Anthony Joshua would be a very interesting and exciting fight. The power in both of Wilders hands are a real threat to Joshua but would his skill be good enough to outbox Wilder? A fight with all of the belts on show would be such a big event. The biggest fight in boxing history...
The WBC have announced that they will allow Luis Ortiz to fight under their banner. This could suggest that Ortiz will face Wilder before the fight with Joshua. Along with the Parker fight, this would help to build up the fight.
There is then the possibility of Tyson Fury returning to the ring to then fight the winner of the Joshua Wilder fight. There has been rumours that Tony Bellew will be an option for Fury due to David Haye pulling out of their fight. This is a total mismatch and Bellew should either pursue a fight with Joseph Parker or wait for David Haye to return for him to finish off his great career.
The Heavyweight division is on fire at the moment and 2018 is going to be an phenomenal year.
Joseph Parker has come out to say that he will not accept anything less than a 35 - 65 split. Listening to Mike Costello's podcast this morning it was interesting to hear that Costello thought that the split wasn't important but the actual purse is instead. Even if the split was 10 - 90 Parker may still be earning more than he has ever earned in one fight. He should snatch up this opportunity and secure the financial future for his family..@anthonyfjoshua doesn't a 65-35% between two unbeaten champions sound fair? Nearly double our share. Don't worry a rematch clause is there in case you're worried about your chin #NoExcusesNow #NeverBeenDropped .@EddieHearn .@D_Higgins_Duco— Joseph Parker (@joeboxerparker) November 27, 2017
