Come on Brad. Leave it to the pros...

In an attempt to kickstart a rowing career, Bradley Wiggins has failed miserably. The British Indoor Championships provides an opportunity for the elite rowers in the country to compete against themselves and the machine. Read on for exclusive footage and photos...

The five time Olympic Gold medal winner acted in a very unsportsmanlike way after he failed to impress at his first rowing performance. Wiggins is seen in this video walking out without congratulating or speaking to anyone. People were still racing. There is no place for an ego like this in rowing. If he does ever start rowing in a boat, he is going to have to learn to be more of a team player. If he is to succeed. What's quite funny is that Bradley initially got up to walk out, but went the wrong way and had to go back past everyone to leave...

Bradley Wiggins' Olympic dreams of winning medals in two different sports are arguably over, after being embarrassed at the British Indoor Championships. Before the event Wiggins had openly stated that he was aiming for a time of 6:02 for 2km. He ended up getting 6:22.5... Although an impressive time, it is incomparable to the winner who got a time of 5:48. Adam Neill, the winner, could also have got a quicker time. He paced it in a way that meant he had energy left in the final quarter of the race to improve his speed by 5 seconds per 500m. It is clear that these GB boys were there to show Wiggins how it's done as they have literally just returned from a brutal training camp. This is why many of the top GB rowers weren't there.

Considering that the ergo is supposedly Wiggins' strength when it comes to rowing, seeing him try and row in a boat would be comical. Rowing is a sport which requires a serious amount of skill and time to master. Although Wiggins' participation in the sport has undoubtedly increased the number of people interested in the sport, I think it's time for Brad to leave it to the pros. To put Wiggins' performance in perspective, the top three in the 6th form boy category beat Bradley Wiggins' time. Keep practising Brad and maybe come back next year...
During the 2km race, Wiggins heard a call to stop rowing. This was not meant for him though. He obviously didn't listen to the instructions as he slowed down and then realised that he wasn't meant to stop and the carried on. Despite this temporary blip, it is no excuse for getting such a disastrous time. I find when something like that happens it actually motivates me to go faster. At most Wiggins lost 5 seconds of time from that.

Wiggins is obviously a great athlete and I great respect for him giving it a go. He has publicised the sport well and deserves credit for that.

Shoutout to my brother George Shaw who came 16th in his category. He managed to get me these photos and videos so cheers bro and well done!
