Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua is a hero. He beat the most dominant figure in the heavy weight division. It was an epic battle which saw AJ become a nations favorite. He appeared on chat shows and was widely recognised by the British public as the countries best heavyweight. The media went crazy. AJ was a hero. Rewind a couple of years to November 2015 when Tyson Fury did what AJ did in 2017. Tyson beat the man before AJ did. He was also younger. This practically went unnoticed. I did not see Tyson Fury on any chat shows and the media certainly did not give Tyson as much positive media as they gave AJ. In my opinion what Tyson did was much more impressive. He out boxed Klitschko. AJ fought him and nearly lost it. Tyson looked to be untouchable. It is after this much time that I have started to ask myself why did the British public not react as positively to Tyson Furys win as they did to AJs. It is true that Tyson made a few controversial comments but what do you expect when an athlete with no experience of the media is suddenly put in front of the camera. It seems a shame that in today's era it is deemed more important to be popular rather than actually good at the sport you do. Tyson Fury is the best heavyweight of this generation. But because he does not fit into society he has been crushed by the media. AJ ticks all the boxes. He suits the image that the media want. Is it fair that one man's boxing legacy and career have been ruined due to the fact that he just isn't suited to the media. I believe that's sportsmen should stick to sport. There should not be this pressure to make stupid amounts of money. Keep sport real.
