Lewis Hamilton has won his 5th British Grand Prix and his 4th one in a row. He has put his name in the history books once again. However, the real excitement of the race was not at the front. Daniel Ricciardo started at the back of the grid and spent the race climbing his way back to the top and finished in 5th place. He showed his real class with a number of quality overtakes throughout the race. In my opinion, what was more impressive was Ricciardo's teammate Max Verstappen. Max raced phenomenally well. He had a great start and managed to hold back 4 time world champion Sebastian Vettel. Max raced aggressively but fairly. As per usual Vettel complained about a defensive move that Max made when he made the exact same move the corner before. I am bored of Vettel and his constant hypocritical complaining. He does not deserve to be world champion again because he is not acting like one. Team boss of Red Bull, Christian Horner, still seems to adore Vettel. He was asked today about Max Verstappen and Horner continued to talk about how well Vettel did when he was racing at Red Bull. It is time to move on and maybe support your own driver instead of a driver racing for a rival team. Red Bull need to improve the reliability of their car. We have seen that Max has the talent to produce race winning performances but multiple times this season the car has failed him. Much like I feel the Channel 4 coverage is failing F1. The pit walk before the race was embarrassing. It was far too long and they did not speak to enough racers or people full stop. The coverage of the race was fairly standard as well. The commentators were making regular mistakes which even I (not a F1 expert) could notice. Many of these mistakes were not even recognised or corrected. I wonder is the Sky coverage is better? Martin Brundle certainly did a good job when the BBC covered the sport. I wonder if he has brought that to Sky.
