Today's Formula 1 race was one full of drama, chaos and excitement. The race had three restarts and was also given a red flag. Daniel Ricciardo won the race much to his own surprise. Valtteri Bottas just pipped Lance Stroll to the line with 0.1 of a second separating them. Lance Stroll is the youngest person to ever get on the podium in a rookie season. This shows how much talent he has and after only 8 Formula 1 races he is definitely one to watch for the future. Sebastian Vettel was given a 10 second penalty for dangerous driving. The four time world champion claimed that Lewis Hamilton had 'break tested him' on the restart. From the footage it looks like this is a false accusation but Vettel still rammed Hamilton and then continued to drive alongside him and swerve into Hamilton. When Vettel was given the penalty he asked 'when did I drive dangerously?' This shows that when the drivers step in the car they are completely different animals than what they are outside of the car. What I was disappointed about was after the race the journalists asking Vettel questions did not push or show him the footage of what he did and ask him to explain. I would have liked to have know what Vettel was thinking and how the race director saw only a 10 second penalty as an appropriate punishment for playing bumper cars in Formula 1. What do you think?
